Before you sign up
I'm new to ORE Part 2 — will I still benefit?
Yes. The course is built station by station from the ground up, so you're not expected to already know the format. Watch each station as many times as it takes before it clicks.
I don't know which instruments to use — should I sign up?
That's exactly the kind of gap this course helps close. Each station walks through the instruments and technique for that exercise, so you build familiarity through repetition. Pro adds expert feedback on your own technique on top of that.
Does this replace hands-on manikin practice?
No — it's guided video preparation, not a substitute for physical practice. It's built to make the hands-on time you do get count for more, by walking through the reasoning and technique first.
I've already sat the exam or done an onsite course — is this still useful?
Yes. Revisit only the stations you struggled with, as many times as you need, without paying for a full course again.
About the course
Who created Online Manikin?
Two GDC-registered dentists — Dr. Usman Irfan and Dr. Daniyal Shoaib — who sat ORE Part 2 themselves and now practise in the NHS. They designed the course around the doubts they had as candidates.
What's the difference between Core and Pro?
Core is the full pre-recorded video library, station by station, with two months of access. Pro includes everything in Core, plus you can submit your completed exercises for personalised feedback from GDC-registered instructors, with priority support while you prepare.
When does the course launch?

How much will it cost?
Pricing will be announced when enrolment opens. Core is a one-time purchase rather than a subscription. Join the waitlist to be told first.
Access and devices
Where will I watch the course?
On our dedicated learning platform, in your browser. You'll create a profile there, work through the stations and track your progress. iOS and Android apps will follow.
Do I need to be in the UK?
No. The course is fully online, so you can prepare from anywhere — no flights, visa or hotel needed.
Can I rewatch a station?
Yes, as many times as you like during your access period. That's the main advantage over a one-off onsite course.
About ORE Part 2
What is ORE Part 2?
ORE Part 2 is the practical part of the General Dental Council's Overseas Registration Exam, taken by overseas-qualified dentists who want to register in the UK. It follows Part 1 and has four components: the Dental Manikin (DM) exercises, an OSCE, a Diagnostic and Treatment Planning (DTP) exercise, and Medical Emergencies (ME).
What is the Dental Manikin (DM) part of the exam?
The DM — sometimes called the DMT — is the operative part of ORE Part 2: a set of exercises, such as cavity preparations, composite restorations and crown preparations, carried out on a dental manikin in a single session. The equipment is provided on the day. Online Manikin's course focuses on these exercises.
Will the exam use the same teeth as your videos?
Not necessarily. Our videos demonstrate each exercise on a particular tooth, but in the exam the exercises and teeth are set on the day. The techniques and principles carry across.
Is Online Manikin affiliated with the GDC?
No. Online Manikin is an independent preparation course. For official exam dates, rules and the current exam format, always check the General Dental Council's website.
